AFC International Inc. has a complete line of instrumentation equipment for Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) applications. Indoor Air Quality instrumentation and equipment comprises many of the same types of sensors and sensor technologies that are used in industrial safety or Hazmat applications but tweaked for indoor air contaminate levels. They also are not designed for harsh industrial environments, but rather designed to be used in homes or office builds. Traditional IAQ instruments or monitors will have a Carbon Dioxide (CO2) sensor with a relative humidity and temperature sensor. Some will also include a Carbon Monoxide (CO) sensor or VOC detector, usually a PID. These instruments are designed to run continuously for several weeks and collect sensor data via an internal logger. This information will be used to determine the quality of the air in the work or home environment. The CO2 measurement will indicate if the ventilation of the venue is properly set to move the stale air appropriately for the number of occupants in the room or area. Although, CO2 is a toxic gas, the IAQ instrument is usually used as an indicator of poor ventilation and the chance of other toxins building up such as mold and formaldehydes off gassing from building materials, furniture and carpets. 521 Organic Vapor Badges from Assay Technologies
521 Organic Vapor Badges are the perfect badge for testing for organic vapors. There are covers on each side of the monitor that can be removed to double the sampling rate. Even with only one cover removed the monitor samples approximately at 30 mL/min, depending on the chemical. Use this badge for monitoring of chemicals with a low PEL (10 ppm or less), STEL monitoring or for Indoor Air Quality situations. Note: There are a few chemicals that have PELs at 10 or below but are too volatile to be reliably collected by this fast sampling diffusive monitor.

Draeger Short Term Detector Tubes: A

A Draeger tube should be selected to detect each suspected chemical. Simply locate the contaminant listed alphabetically in the table below. Select the Draeger Tube listed according to the chemical hazard to be tested and the measuring range. Order the tube by the part number that appears to the right.

This instrument is ideal for monitoring indoor air quality in crowded public spaces with potentially high levels of CO2 (carbon dioxide) such as offices, factories, classrooms, hospitals and hotels. The same measurement parameters can also be used to test air from HVAC equipment. Backlit simultaneous display of CO2 level, humidly and air temperature or the user may choose a rotating display of dew point and wet bulb temperature instead of air temperature. This detector also calculates TWA (Time Weighted Average) and STEL (Short Term Exposure Limit). Features simple user calibration of carbon dioxide and humidity. This meter includes an audible CO2 threshold alarms, min/max, ave, hold and a computer interface. The NDIR sensor technology ensures long term accuracy, stability and reliability.
