QC-50 Calibration Gas QuickCheck System

The QC-50 utilizes revolutionary technology allowing a functional check (or Bump Test) as needed or required by law. The unique QuickCheck Vials (QCV) utilize a stable, safe and reliable delivery method allowing ease of shipment, storage and use. The QC-50 is currently available for ammonia, hexane, hydrogen chloride and toluene.

The QCV used in the QC-50 are small, disposable vials with a small amount of the gas to be tested in liquid form in a sealed inner ampule. Breaking the inner ampule allows the liquid to absorb into a filter which then diffuses out the gas. Simply squeezing the hand aspirated bulb will allow a test concentration of gas to flow by the gas detector, verifying its operation. The QVC contains such a small amount of chemical it is non-hazardous for shipping, storage and disposal. And since the vials are sealed they have a very long shelf life compared to many other bump test methods.

Please Note: Vial concentration is approximate and is based upon a freshly opened vial at 70°F and ¼ LPM air flow. Refer to the manual for information on the approximate concentrations at differing temperatures and flow rates. Vial concentration is also depleted with use. Refer to the manual for information on the effect of use on vial concentration.

Before use verify that the filters in vial are blue. If the filters are white the vial no longer contains ammonia. If you suspect a vial has leaked or has an improper seal, Do Not Remove the foil cover. Warranty is voided as soon as the protective cover is removed or broken. Return the vial to ACD for evaluation and potential warranty replacement.

The QuickCheck Series of instruments and vials are not intended to be used for actual calibration of gas detection equipment. The QuickCheck is designed to give a simple test of instrument functionality with the gas type being monitored.

CAL 101 Bump Station for all Gas Detectors

Field replaceable electrochemical generating cells provide a calibration standard for accurately testing chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen and hydrogen cyanide sensors. The calibration method is approved under the ISO DIS 6145-11 standards. The instrument is also designed to meet intrinsic safety requirements.

The CAL 101 is non-hazardous to ship and will not degrade over time. The electrochemical generating cell is interchangeable and provides multiple gas and concentration options quickly, safely and easily. By simply inserting the appropriate cell in the instrument, the user is ready to bump test.

The CAL 101’s  compact size and light weight provide for a safe and easy bump testing even for the least accessible detection points. The two “AA” batteries powering the instrument combined with an efficient design provide the user with a lightweight instrument weighing approximately 1 pound.

AFC International's Universal Bump Test Station for Gas Detectors

The AFC International Bump Test Station is an easy to use device for the verification of sensor response of your multi gas or personal gas detectors. This simple bump test can be performed in less than 60 seconds and will give you the piece of mind that your instrument is responding to gas properly, prior to entering a confined space or dangerous gas area in a plant.

The wall mounted Bump Test Station can be modified to work with any make or model instrument on the market. A simple push of the start button activates the flow of test gas. A green light turns on, indicating the system is working. The flow meter on the front of the unit verifies that gas is flowing. In about 30 seconds all alarms on the instrument should be activated. If they are not, the instrument should not be used and then sent in for service. The station automatically shuts off after the selected time period and the green light goes out. AFC International uses quality gas standards that are certified accurate. The Bump Test Station can use any concentration of gas and cylinder sizes. We recommend that you use a gas concentration high enough to insure that all gas sensor alarms will be activated within a 30 to 60 second time period.

The Bump Test Station is a perfect compliment to any company’s calibration or maintenance schedule and can be customized to fit your gas detection program.The AFC International Bump Test Station is not intended to and/or should not be used to replace periodic instrument manufacturer’s recommended gas calibration interval! It is simply a test that can fill in the gaps between calibrations.

The ISEA passed a new statement in November 2009. This was after 2 1/2 years of debate. The definition of a bump test has now been expanded into two methods. There is now a qualitative (bump) and a quantitative (calibration check) for all gas monitors. The new statement is available here.

Series A24 Puffer Bump Test Gas Generator from ATI

Many safety programs require response testing of the portable detectors used for personal monitoring, prior to use. Fixed detectors must also be tested to ensure they remain sensitive to the target gas.

Regulator “puff tests” can provide a quick check of sensor response. These involve briefly exposing the gas sensors to a puff of air containing a small amount of the target gas. This is often done quite effectively using cylinder gas from calibration cylinders. However, the high cost of the cylinder gas can make this test fairly expensive. What’s more, compressed gas cylinder can be difficult to transport, creating possible supply problems for users.

The A24 Puffer is a portable, battery operated instrument containing a gas generator and simple hand pump that provides the puff of air needed for sensor response checks.

For puff testing diffusion gas detectors, the Puffer includes a short outlet tube. Gas is ejected from the generator by pressing the bladder on the front of the unit. For testing detectors with internal sampling pumps, a plug on the unit is removed so that the sampling pump can pull air through the generator cell for delivery to the detector.

Puffers are water resistant for use in any environment and are designed to intrinsic safety standards. Generator cells provide hundreds of tests, with an LED to indicate the remaining life of the generator cell. Generator cells are easily changed and the life indicator can be reset when a new generator is installed.

Bump Test Station for Draeger Gas Detectors

This test is important in order to check the ability of the gas to flow through the dust and water filter over the sensor; to check that the calibration of the sensor is still correct; to check that the alarms work and are set correctly; to be in line with the regulations, standards, or recommendations from the local authorities.

A Draeger gas calibration cylinder is connected to the station. The bump test station includes the necessary gas regulator and an instrument-specific adapter for the connection of the different instruments.

Testing an instrument with a known concentration of gas is the only way to guarantee the reliable and accurate detection of gas hazards. During this test, the sensor’s response and the proper function of the instrument’s alarm functions will be checked.

The operation of the TS400 bump test station couldn’t be any easier. Simply put the G450 or G460 in the dock and the system will take over. The TS400 automatically performs a full functional test including a fresh air calibration, bump test, extensive sensor tests, alarm tests. The TS400 is designed to go beyond the traditional basic bump test and includes sensor diagnostics tests such as T50 and T90. After all, what good is a sensor that can respond to gas when it takes too long to get there? With the TS400 you can have confidence with this added level of safety. The TS400 is available for use as a charger as well as a test station. After all tests have been completed you may remove and begin using the detector or leave it in the TS400 for recharging. A good instrument gas detection maintenance program is not complete without equally good records keeping. Whether you choose to download or maintain the records on a PC or network or your preference is to leave it to the docking station, the TS400 is the right choice. The TS400 can retain as many as 2 million complete diagnostics in memory with maximum memory installed. That is over 50 years of data even if testing 100 detectors every single day. The TS400 is designed to reduce the cost of ownership every step of the way. The push button regulator helps to sharply reduce the amount of gas required to test your instruments. The TS400 comes complete with USB interface cable and download software. The SD card may also be downloaded using a standard SD card reader. The TS400 software includes a module to quickly print official bump test certificates. Simply download the records from the TS400 and start the Certificate Generator. The TS400 is available for use with the instrument only or there is an available design for use with the instrument with a pump. QC-50 Calibration Gas QuickCheck System
The QC-50 utilizes revolutionary technology allowing a functional check (or Bump Test) as needed or required by law. The unique QuickCheck Vials (QCV) utilize a stable, safe and reliable delivery method allowing ease of shipment, storage and use. The QC-50 is currently available for ammonia, hexane, hydrogen chloride and toluene. The QCV used in the QC-50 are small, disposable vials with a small amount of the gas to be tested in liquid form in a sealed inner ampule. Breaking the inner ampule allows the liquid to absorb into a filter which then diffuses out the gas. Simply squeezing the hand aspirated bulb will allow a test concentration of gas to flow by the gas detector, verifying its operation. The QVC contains such a small amount of chemical it is non-hazardous for shipping, storage and disposal. The AFC International Bump Test Station is an easy to use device for the verification of sensor response of your multi gas or personal gas detectors. This simple bump test can be performed in less than 60 seconds and will give you the piece of mind that your instrument is responding to gas properly, prior to entering a confined space or dangerous gas area in a plant. The wall mounted Bump Test Station can be modified to work with any make or model instrument on the market. A simple push of the start button activates the flow of test gas. A green light turns on, indicating the system is working. The flow meter on the front of the unit verifies that gas is flowing. In about 30 seconds all alarms on the instrument should be activated. If they are not, the instrument should not be used and then sent in for service. The station automatically shuts off after the selected time period and the green light goes out. AFC International uses quality gas standards that are certified accurate. The Bump Test Station can use any concentration of gas and cylinder sizes. We recommend that you use a gas concentration high enough to insure that all gas sensor alarms will be activated within a 30 to 60 second time period. Series A24 Puffer Bump Test Gas Generator from ATI
Many safety programs require response testing of the portable detectors used for personal monitoring, prior to use. Fixed detectors must also be tested to ensure they remain sensitive to the target gas. Regulator “puff tests” can provide a quick check of sensor response. These involve briefly exposing the gas sensors to a puff of air containing a small amount of the target gas. This is often done quite effectively using cylinder gas from calibration cylinders. However, the high cost of the cylinder gas can make this test fairly expensive. What’s more, compressed gas cylinder can be difficult to transport, creating possible supply problems for users. The A24 Puffer is a portable, battery operated instrument containing a gas generator and simple hand pump that provides the puff of air needed for sensor response checks. For puff testing diffusion gas detectors, the Puffer includes a short outlet tube. Gas is ejected from the generator by pressing the bladder on the front of the unit. For testing detectors with internal sampling pumps, a plug on the unit is removed so that the sampling pump can pull air through the generator cell for delivery to the detector. Puffers are water resistant for use in any environment and are designed to intrinsic safety standards. Generator cells provide hundreds of tests, with an LED to indicate the remaining life of the generator cell. Generator cells are easily changed and the life indicator can be reset when a new generator is installed.
