Description
ATI’s A23-14 is a portable ozone calibration gas generator designed to produce an ozone gas concentration below 1 ppm, which can be used for detector calibration at almost any location. The generator uses a compressed air cylinder to supply dry air to an ultraviolet cell where ozone gas is formed. The resulting flow of air with a small amount of ozone exits the generator cell through fluorocarbon outlet tubing that is used to deliver the ozone standard to a gas sensor.
The use of ozone gas is increasing rapidly in a wide variety of applications, such as water treatment, odor control and food processing. As the number of ozone generators in use has expanded, the need for gas leak detection near the generators or at ozone application points has expanded. And with expanded use of ozone leak detectors has come the need for a tool to generate the low level ozone gas needed to calibrate ozone sensors.
Operation of the ozone gas generator is very simple. The UV generator cell is plugged into any convenient power outlet and the valve on the air cylinder is opened. The cylinder valve is a fixed flow regulator so that no flow control is required. The outlet tubing from the generator is connected to your ozone gas sensor for whatever period is needed for calibration and then the system is shut off. Generator output is nominally around 0.8 ppm, but each generator is individually marked with an accurate ozone gas concentration value measured prior to shipment.
Ozone generators are supplied in a durable molded case with sufficient space for outlet tubing and calibration adapters. The basic kit contains the generator, one 103 liter air cylinder with fixed flow regulator and 3 feet of outlet tubing.
