CEL-620 Integrating Real Time Analyzer from Casella USA
Ideally suited to a wide range of industrial noise measurement applications, the CEL-620 Integrating Real Time Analyzer uses the latest technology to give high standards of performance in a compact design. The CEL-620 meter is designed to satisfy this need and to enhance it by providing the capture and display of the highest maximum level and lowest maximum level together with the integrated time average level. A super wide 120 dB dynamic range means that the user does not need to worry about changing scales as it will always be on the correct scale and the provision of all the popular frequency and time weightings allow many different measurements to be taken by new and experienced user alike. A full color high precision, graphic LCD enhances the user experience with this new meter. The CEL-620 series was designed with ease of use in mind. The menu structure is designed to pick up and use without the use of a manual. A simple icon structure is used with word prompts for each selection. The instruments has six selectable set-ups. Four pre-defined set-ups can be used to satisfy local workplace noise legislation. Two user set-ups can be defined to display parameters and weighting as required. Regardless of the setup used, the 620 measures and stores all parameters and weighting even if not selected. These can be viewed if necessary on the software. Up to 100 measurements can be stored without the need to download. All runs are date and time stamped. When connected to a PC via the USB connection, the 62x acts like a memory card, so data files can be moved to a PC and easily reviewed without the need for software. All 62x models are integrating so measure average noise levels as well as peak levels for workplace noise legislation. CEL-620A model also simultaneously measure Lc and La used withing the HML method for selection of hearing protection. In addition, the CEL-620B model performs real time octave and analysis from 16Hz to 16kHz, values which are used in the octave band method for selection of hearing protection. If future requirements change, any instrument can be upgraded to a higher model without returning to Casella.

CEL-630 Occupational Integrating Real Time Noise Analyzer

The CEL-630 series is designed to make workplace noise measurements as quick and simple as possible. The displayed information can be made as simple or comprehensive as required and all measurement parameters are stored simultaneously, so no incorrect measurements can be made. When the unit is calibrated with the CEL-120 calibrator, the calibration dates and times are stored and downloaded to Casella Insight software, validating the accuracy of measurements. Average, peak and octave band measurements are performed at the same time, so only one measurement needs to be made for all workplace noise applications.

Data can be marked to signify any significant events, the data from which can be removed afterwards in the Insight software. Up to 60 hours os audio files can be stored, commonly used for noise source identification. Stored audio can be played back on the instrument using headphones or downloaded to Casella Insight software. For unattended monitoring, even mode (CEL-633) allows trigger levels (dB) to be set, so additional data is stored together with the audio file for later play back or analysis, as well as a profile down to 10ms intervals. An environmental noise monitoring kit is available which protects the instrument and microphone from the weather and allows unattended monitoring for up to 10 days.

There are 2 models available. Select your frequency analysis requirements by adding ‘A’ for broadband, ‘B’ for octave band and ‘C’ adds 1/3 octave. Then add either a 1 or a 2 to denote the accuracy class. Each instrument comes complete with a standard kit case, windshield and calibration certificate.

Beyond this ground-breaking advancement in noise exposure sampling methodology, the Casella dBadge2 noise dosimeter and Casella dBadge2 Plus noise dosimeter and the Casella dBadge2 Pro noise dosimeter models also offers you capabilities rarely found in personal noise dosimeters including how to select proper hearing protection, or determine whether a process can be made safer in a cost-effective manner through the use of Octave Band measurement data (Pro model). All Casella dBadge2 noise dosimeter models have kept the simple 2-button operation and one-touch calibration features that are so popular. The dBadge2 has a multiple simulated dosimeter capability to display noise exposure results according to differing regional or international protocols. Regardless of what you have displayed the dBadge2 always measures all parameters together. This helps ensure the correct parameters are always measured and you can choose how many parameters to display.

With it’s two button operation, the dBadge2 couldn’t be easier to use. After switching the dBadge2 on, apply the acoustic calibrator and press one button to perform calibration. Then hold both keys down to start a measurement. Each unit features lockable keys and display, automatic detection of acoustic calibrator, a color coded display and is easy to mount on the employees shoulder.

The dBadge2 is rated intrinsically safer for use in flammable atmospheres.

Different models of the dBadge2 are available with advanced functions depending on your requirements. Features available include audio notes at the start of a run to record measurement details, audio recording of level triggered events to identify anomalous noise, octave band analysis for selection of hearing protection and motion sensing to assist in measurement validation.

Cirrus Optimus Yellow Sound Level Meters

The Optimus Yellow sound level meters are a range of state of the art sound level meters. They have been designed to meet the very latest standards for noise measurement instruments and provide the highest level of performance possible while being simple to setup, use and operate.

There are many noise measurement applications where integrated noise levels, such a Leq and Lavg are not required and where basic noise data such as Sound Level (SPL) or Maximum Sound Level (Lmax) are all that is needed. The Optimus Yellow instruments are ideal for these applications and can be upgraded to add further functions.

The Optimus Yellow will measure every parameter simultaneously so there is no possibility of you setting the wrong function, but only the most important data is displayed on the screen. Where data logging is fitted, store this information for download to the NoiseTools software.

The Optimus Red sound level meters are the ideal instrument for applications such as occupational noise and industrial hygiene and feature a clear, high resolution OLED color screen, a wide 120 dB measurement span (up to 140 dBA and 143 dBC Peak) and simultaneous measurement of all available parameters. FMeasuring noise exposure of employees quickly and reliably is essential. The Optimus sound level meters have been designed with ease of use as the most important feature which lets you get on with measuring and controlling noise. This sound level meter uses the very latest in digital technology and industrial design techniques to make everything as clear and simple as possible. The color OLED screen which can be seen in any conditions and the keypad will illuminate automatically in low light. The case is robust and covered with a tactile finish. The measurement data is displayed in a clear and covered format along with a real time noise chart so that you can see how the noise varies with time. All of the functions of the instrument are measured simultaneously. All of the Optimus sound level meters will measure all of the available functions at the same time. This means that no matter what the display is showing, you can be sure that you cannot choose the wrong function. For example, if you have set the instrument to display the Leq and you need to see the TWA & Lavg, just press the correct arrow key and the Dose View will give you all of the information you need to meet OSHA, MSHA and ACGIH. SoundSign Noise Activated Warning Sign
The SoundSign is a highly visible noise activated warning sign that has been designed for use in environments where there is a need to clearly warn or indicate when a preset noise level is reached.

Use the SoundSign in noisy environments such as factories, workshops, pubs and nightclubs to warn when noise levels become too high and indicate when hearing protection must be worn. A noise survey may have indicated that the levels will exceed 90 dB(A) when certain processes occur but this may happen at random intervals throughout the day. The wearing of hearing protection may not be required at all times and so the use of the SoundSign will inform employees when it is required and when it can be safely removed. Use SoundSign in quiet locations such as schools, hospitals and libraries to indicate when noise levels must be kept down. Set the SoundSign to trigger at a much lower level, 50 dB(A) to ensure that the noise levels in a hospital ward stay within acceptable levels. There is no need to use hearing protection but the use of a clear warning sign can be very effective in controlling and managing noise levels. Installation of a SoundSign is very simple. Select the required trigger level and connect the 12V power supply to the unit. When the noise level measured by the microphone reaches this level, the sign will illuminate and show the warning. The unit can also be set to keep the warning illuminated for up to 30 seconds after the level has fallen back below the trigger level. This removes the sudden on-off indication that traditional noise warning signs often produce and which can cause confusion as to when hearing protection should be worn. The sound level chosen for the trigger point can be set using either the simple level selection on the back of the unit or by using a calibrated Sound Level Meter to provide a reference measurement. The brightness of the display can be adjusted making the SoundSign ideal for use in hospitals. The SoundSign is also available as a Remote Display Unit which is controlled by a Master SoundSign. These units are connected by a simple cable to the Master and up to 3 can be daisy chained together so that a wide area can be covered. The Remote Display Unit will duplicate the master Unit warning using the same configuration trigger level, time weightings and illumination options. The SoundSign can be upgraded quickly and easily by adding the CR:203 USB Data Logger. This unit simply plugs into the SoundSign and can record noise levels for long periods of time. The data logger can be programmed to start recording at a specific time and date and run for an 8 hour shift. The data logger can be plugged directly into a PC and the software supplied will display a graph of the recorded noise levels, allow the information to be printed, exported and annotated for reference.

Sound Level Pen
The Sound Level Pen is the smallest, lightest, easiest to carry sound meter in the world. Despite its small size the Pen is a full function Type 2 sound meter perfect for testing OSHA requirements and most other sound meter applications. It features Auto-Ranging with simple one button operation. Press once to begin reading sound levels, press the button a second time and the display holds the maximum reading, updating as new maximums are reached. Then hold the button for 2 seconds to turn the unit off. The Pen measures the 32 to 130 dB range in the “A” scale, with an accuracy of ±1.5 dB. The display provides 0.1 dB resolution, under range, over range and low battery indicators. It calibrates electronically to its own internal oscillator or external 2 Point Acoustical Calibrator. 2 Point Acoustical Calibrator
The 2 point acoustical calibrator will calibrate any digital sound meter with a 1″ or ½” microphone. It conforms to ANSI S1.4-1984 and IEC 942 1988 Class 2 standards for acoustical calibrators. Simply place the calibrator on to the digital sound meter’s microphone, turn on the calibrator and adjust the meter’s reading to either 94 or 114 dB. It operates at a frequency of 1KH ±4% and with an accuracy of ±0.5 dB. It features a built in battery check, and is easily portable for field use and includes a carrying case, adapters for ½” or 1″ microphones, instructions and a 9 volt battery. Detachable Probe Sound Meter

This unique sound meter enables remote sound level readings using a detachable probe. It features an RS232 computer interface, AC output and a coiled probe that extends to 9′. The meter also has A and C decibel frequency weighting scales, fast or slow time weighting, hold peak hold and min-max functions. It meets IEC651 and ANSI S1.4 specifications for a Type 2 sound meter. Ideally suited to a wide range of industrial noise measurement applications, the CEL-620 Integrating Real Time Analyzer uses the latest technology to give high standards of performance in a compact design. The CEL-620 meter is designed to satisfy this need and to enhance it by providing the capture and display of the highest maximum level and lowest maximum level together with the integrated time average level. A super wide 120 dB dynamic range means that the user does not need to worry about changing scales as it will always be on the correct scale and the provision of all the popular frequency and time weightings allow many different measurements to be taken by new and experienced user alike. A full color high precision, graphic LCD enhances the user experience with this new meter. The CEL-620 series was designed with ease of use in mind. The menu structure is designed to pick up and use without the use of a manual. A simple icon structure is used with word prompts for each selection. The instruments has six selectable set-ups. Four pre-defined set-ups can be used to satisfy local workplace noise legislation. Two user set-ups can be defined to display parameters and weighting as required. Regardless of the setup used, the 620 measures and stores all parameters and weighting even if not selected. These can be viewed if necessary on the software. Up to 100 measurements can be stored without the need to download. All runs are date and time stamped. When connected to a PC via the USB connection, the 62x acts like a memory card, so data files can be moved to a PC and easily reviewed without the need for software. The CEL-630 series is designed to make workplace noise measurements as quick and simple as possible. The displayed information can be made as simple or comprehensive as required and all measurement parameters are stored simultaneously, so no incorrect measurements can be made. When the unit is calibrated with the CEL-120 calibrator, the calibration dates and times are stored and downloaded to Casella Insight software, validating the accuracy of measurements. SoundSign Noise Activated Warning Sign
The SoundSign is a highly visible noise activated warning sign that has been designed for use in environments where there is a need to clearly warn or indicate when a preset noise level is reached. A noise survey may have indicated that the levels will exceed 90 dB(A) when certain processes occur but this may happen at random intervals throughout the day. The wearing of hearing protection may not be required at all times and so the use of the SoundSign will inform employees when it is required and when it can be safely removed. Use SoundSign in quiet locations such as schools, hospitals and libraries to indicate when noise levels must be kept down. Set the SoundSign to trigger at a much lower level, 50 dB(A) to ensure that the noise levels in a hospital ward stay within acceptable levels. There is no need to use hearing protection but the use of a clear warning sign can be very effective in controlling and managing noise levels. Installation of a SoundSign is very simple. Select the required trigger level and connect the 12V power supply to the unit. When the noise level measured by the microphone reaches this level, the sign will illuminate and show the warning. The unit can also be set to keep the warning illuminated for up to 30 seconds after the level has fallen back below the trigger level. This removes the sudden on-off indication that traditional noise warning signs often produce and which can cause confusion as to when hearing protection should be worn. The sound level chosen for the trigger point can be set using either the simple level selection on the back of the unit or by using a calibrated Sound Level Meter to provide a reference measurement. The brightness of the display can be adjusted making the SoundSign ideal for use in hospitals. The SoundSign is also available as a Remote Display Unit which is controlled by a Master SoundSign. These units are connected by a simple cable to the Master and up to 3 can be daisy chained together so that a wide area can be covered. The Remote Display Unit will duplicate the master Unit warning using the same configuration trigger level, time weightings and illumination options. The SoundSign can be upgraded quickly and easily by adding the CR:203 USB Data Logger. This unit simply plugs into the SoundSign and can record noise levels for long periods of time. The data logger can be programmed to start recording at a specific time and date and run for an 8 hour shift. The data logger can be plugged directly into a PC and the software supplied will display a graph of the recorded noise levels, allow the information to be printed, exported and annotated for reference.
