PortaSens III Gas Leak Detector from Analytical Technology
The ATI PortaSens II has been updated to the PortaSens III portable gas leak detector. The new PortaSens III is a rugged hand held device used to detect leaks of toxic or otherwise dangerous gas and also to detect oxygen displacement. The D16 quickly adapts to measure different gases by inserting the appropriate gas sensor module which retains all of the calibration and configuration settings for the target gas. An internal pump with a flexible wand is included for point sampling around suspect pipe fittings and confined spaces. Readings and settings are presented on a backlighted, resistive touch, color graphics LCD with a beeper to notify you of alarms and other events. Readings are recorded in .csv files (ASCII text, comma-separated values) and transferred to a PC using the supplied USB cable. No external application is required. The files may be opened with any text editor or directly by applications like Microsoft Excel. Power is provided from a rechargeable NiMH D-cell battery. The battery should be removed and charged in an external charger after each use. The battery is not used or even required when the device is connected to a USB port. The inlet port, located on the manifold lid, is fitted with a quick disconnect fitting to connect the flexible want. The wand can be used for probing closely around pipes and fittings and for sampled confined spaces without entering. The wand is lined with Teflon and is inert to nearly all vapors and gases. Flexible tubing may be connected to the inlet port to sample high gas concentration or those beyond the reach of the wand. Fluorocarbon based tubing is strongly recommended for measuring low concentrations of reactive gases. Other materials may be used for high range measurements where the adsorption of gas by the tubing is negligible or where you are probing or significant leaks. The internal walls of the wand and any inlet tubing must be kept dry. Water on the walls may absorb soluble gases and decrease the gas readings, presenting an unsafe condition. If the inside of the wand or tubing gets wet, dry dry air through it for 10-15 minutes.

The PortaSens III is supplied in a padded carrying case for easy storage and transport. Space is provided for an extra battery plus up to two sensor keepers, which means up to 8 extra sensors ready for immediate use. Each PortaSens III includes the detector, spare filters, 10″ Teflon lined sampling wand, flowmeter, USB cable, spare NIMH “D” cell battery, sensor keeper and calibration”T” fitting. The basic PortaSens III detector does not include sensor modules. Because the PortaSens III is designed to accept any gas sensor, you can select one or more sensor modules. Dri-Gas Gas Sampling System

Monitoring combustible or toxic gases in areas with condensing levels of moisture often results in premature sensor failure. Water condensing on sensor surfaces or within the sensor flame arrestor can be difficult to avoid due to widely variable ambient conditions. ATI has developed a solution to this problem with a gas sampling system that also conditions the sample by removing water vapor. The Dri-Gas sampling system draws gas samples from high humidity vent stacks, ducts, wet wells or other humid locations. The system removes water vapor from the gas sample by contact with a cold plate that condenses moisture and delivers a dehumidified gas sample suitable for toxic and combustible gas monitoring equipment. Excess condensate is pumped to a drain fitting on the bottom of the enclosure and can be collected if necessary.

Dri-Gas systems contain a diaphragm sampling pump with brushless DC motor providing operational life in excess of 10,000 hours. The pump is capable of pulling inlet line vacuum of up to 10″ Hg. making it suitable for sampling duct systems with negative pressures. The outlet of the pump is controlled by an adjustable rotameter allowing system sample flow to be set to the normal ate of 500 cc/min. A differential pressure switch across the pump provides an alarm should the inlet line or outlet lines become blocked. An alarm lamp on the door provides local alarm indication and a SPDT alarm contact is available for remote alarm indication.

An optional inlet filter assembly is available for applications where gas streams may contain dust or debris that might cause problems in the air pump. A replaceable filter element on the end of the inlet assembly can be easily changed when necessary.

A plugged inlet filter will be indicated by a fault indication. A package of filter elements are supplied with the inlet assembly.

Installation

The gas sampling system is suitable for either indoor or outdoor installation, but outdoor installations must be protected from wind driven rain. It is also best to protect it from direct sunlight to minimize solar heating or the interior. Outlet tubing containing the dried air sample should be connected directly to the gas sensor flowcells and distances should be kept as short as possible. Teflon lined PVC sample inlet and outlet tubing is recommended to minimize loss of reactive gases.

The diagram below shows a typical installation with the output to an F12 transmitter. This is an example only. The dried gas sample can be fed to a variety of gas sensors including ATI’s D12, D12IT, B12, F12 or other manufacturers.

E12-15IR High Level Ammonia Gas Detector from ATI
The E12-15IR High Level Ammonia Gas Detector is a rugged reliable microprocessor based intelligent gas detector. The E12-15 can be used to monitor from ppm levels to explosive levels of ammonia gas. The E12-15 is ideally suited for use in harsh environments where electrochemical sensor life can be short. Areas such as engine rooms, emergency vents, or other high level NH3 areas are excellent applications. The E12-15 IR Infrared Gas Detector will perform reliably in the presence of silicone and other catalytic poisoning agents and can also operate in oxygen free environments or where high background gas levels are present. There are no known poisons that affect this technology. The E12-15 IR is a stand-alone device providing a linear continuous 4 to 20 mA output representing 0 to full scale. The Model E12-15 IR uses infrared absorption technology for detecting ammonia gas. Gases absorb infrared light only at certain wavelengths. The concentration of a gas can be quantified by measuring and comparing intensities in light bands where there is significant absorption by the target gas. The Model E12-15 IR uses an infrared light source that passes collimated light through a waveguide containing the gas sample. At the other end of the waveguide is a multi channel receiver. The measuring channel intensities and the reference channel intensities are then analyzed to quantify the gas concentration. The gas concentration is then represented at the output as a gas density measurement of % Vol measurement or ppm.

The Honeywell BW Ultra is a portable 5 gas detector designed specifically for sampling and monitoring confined spaces, before and after entry. The Honeywell BW Solo Single Gas Detector has everything you expect plus additional features to make your compliance easier and more cost-effective than ever. All with a reliable life span, one button operation and a small, lightweight profile. No need to take apart the Solo to replace components. To change out the sensor filters, just pop off a door on the front of the detector, no screwdriver required. Sensor and battery replacement are also easy. Instead the 1-series sensors lasts up to 5 years, depending on gas exposure, along with a 3 year warranty. Despite the small size, these sensors delivery consistently accurate readings, standing up to temperature from -40°C to 60°C plus transient pressure, humidity and other environmental extremes. To optimize safety, compliance and productivity, use Honeywell BW Solo with IntelliDoX docking stations and SafetySuite Software. Simply place the detector in the dock and it automatically transfer the test results and performs the actions you choose. You can to a bump test, change set points, enable calibration and /or bump reminders, update firmware and more. The Solo is easy to operate even if you are wearing gloves. using this button you can easily configure set points, latching alarms and other parameters. The Flow Detective Digital Air Flow Meter is designed with ruggedness an accuracy in mind. With Casella’s world renowned ease of use, calibration of air sampling pumps just got quicker and easier. The Flow Detective has been designed to be rugged, with no moving parts so it can be used in the field. Within a few seconds of switching on the Flow Detective, is ready to measure, ensuring you can calibrate devices quickly. As pumps generally use a moving diaphragm, this creates fluctuations in the flow rate on a pump. As sampling heads like cylcones rely on a steady flow to maintain a specific size cut, it is important for pulsation to be as small as possible. Thee flow Detective display a red indicator if pulsation is above 10% When calibrating any device, the Airwave App can be used to remotely control the Flow Detective and wirelessly receive calibration data. When used with an Apex2 pump closed loop calibration can be achieved so nothing has to be set manually on the pump which saves time. The Airwave App allows calibration data to be sent from you mobile device’s email client. This allows you to get calibration traceability data quickly, both before taking a sample run with a pump and after the sampling period to verify flow is within 5%. The Plus calibrator features low flow calibration, Bluetooth connectivity and closed loop calibration with the Apex2 pumps.

Clearance measurement was never this easy and convenient: The Draeger X-am 8000 measures up to 7 toxic as well as flammable gases, vapors and oxygen all at once – either in pump or diffusion mode. Innovative signaling design and handy assistant functions ensure complete safety throughout the process.  The Draeger X-am 8000 is equipped with a very powerful internal pump. It can be connected with hoses up to 45 meters in length. A pump adapter makes it easy to switch between diffusion and pump mode at any time. This means the pump is only operated when you actually need it. That saves energy, reduces wear and tear and thereby extends the lifespan of the pump.

Handy and durable, the Draeger X-am 8000 is intuitive to operate single handedly using three function keys. The easy to read color display clearly lays out all the information for you. Standard accessories include a sturdy shoulder strap, so you can comfortably carry the X-am 8000. thanks to its compact and robust construction, the device can withstand even the harshest conditions.

The X-am 8000 effectively supports various applications with specially developed assistant functions that guide you through each process step by step. During clearance measurement, for example, the smart assistant calculates gases, temperature limits and the indicated hose length. When monitoring for high methane concentrations, a configurable automatic measurement range switch makes it easier to take a reading: if the Cat-Ex sensor measures values above 100% LEL, the display switches to the range of 0 to 100% Vol.

The signal system of the X-am 8000 is based on a clear color code:

  • Red light = gas alarm
  • Yellow light = device related alarm, e.g. low battery
  • Green light = device is ready for use

The green glow of the D-light allows you to see from a distance whether the device has been properly tested and is ready for use. In case of an alarm, the X-am 8000 alerts you with colorful alarms LEDs, a loud horn (100 dB(A) at a distance of 30 cm) and clearly palpable vibration. Optionally, four preset hazards symbols are available for the display which explicitly indicate the presence of explosive or toxic gas hazards. This allows the user to easily recognize the type of hazard based purely on the symbol displayed.

The X-am 8000 is equipped with a shock detection system. The event report indicates whenever severe mechanical impacts have occurred that might result in functional impairments of the device or the sensors. There are also documented in the data logger.

Bump Test and calibration are carried out simply and quickly using the Draeger X-Dock calibrating station. Its low test gas consumption keeps operating costs to a minimum. Its reporting function and numerous other useful features make the X-dock Manager PC software a smart addition to any fleet management operation. To identify the devices in the fleet, you can either use tried and tested barcodes or an integrated RFID transponder

To measure had to detect hydrocarbons, you can fit the Draeger X-am 8000 with one of two high performance PID sensors. The PID HC covers a measurement range of 0-2,000 ppm. The PID LC ppb is particularly suited for a measurement range of 0-10 ppm with a resolution range below 1 ppm. For benzene specific measurements, the X-am 8000 can be used with a pre-tube. The advantage: you only need one measuring device for this application, which significantly reduces the costs of purchasing and maintaining and transporting devices in use. The use of the pre-tubes is supported by a built in assistant.

The X-am 8000 features inductive charging. This makes it easier to operate and increases the lifespan of the device. Issues like corrosion and contact problems in the charging cradle are a thing of the past. You can charge (outside of explosion-hazard zones) an measure at the same time, e.g. when in use inside vehicles or machinery. The charging cradles can connect with one another, taking up minimal space and are compatible with existing X-am series cradles.

Pac 8500 Gas Detector from Draeger
The Draeger Pac 8500 single gas detector is a reliable and precise instrument even under the toughest conditions. The detector can be equipped with a hydrogen compensated CO sensor or a Draeger dual sensor. The dual sensors provide the option of measuring two gases at once: either Hydrogen Sulfide and Carbon Monoxide or Carbon Monoxide and Oxygen. You can count on the Pac 8500 to give you reliable, precise readings at any time even in extreme conditions. Out powerful sensors with a low T-90 response time ensure quick reactions. In addition to the standard alarms, you can define extra alarm thresholds for TLV and STEL. The Pac 8500 also provides a data and event logger for logging concentrations and event along with the date and time. The data can be loaded on a PC ia an interface and processed further there. The Draeger Pac 8500 series offers the following sensor combinations: hydrogen sulfide with carbon monoxide or oxygen with carbon monoxide. Dual sensors enable detection of even low concentrations – all in one and the same handy device. Measuring two gases at the same time reduces downtime as well. You can take vol% measurements of oxygen and ppm measurements of carbon monoxide simultaneously using just one gas detector. In industries where CO needs to be measured with hydrogen as a background gas, the measured value for carbon monoxide may be falsified by cross sensitivity. Thanks to the special hydrogen compensated CO sensor, this cross sensitivity to hydrogen is significantly reduced in the display of CO. This new features can eliminate the need to carry two different detectors. The Pac 8500 can easily handle even extreme conditions. The sensors can tolerate air pressures between 700 and 1,300 mBar. A membrane filter protects the sensor from foreign matter such as dust and liquids. The shock proof, chemical resistant housing meets the requirements specified by the IP68 standard rating. The D-Light indicates whether the functionality of the service has been tested and that it is ready to use. The housing is also designed with your safety in mind: each sensor variant of the Draeger Pac 8500 features clear, easily visible color coding, thereby minimizing the chance of mistakes. The large display indicates the respective gas concentration. Other important information, such as the unit of concentration and battery capacity, is also displayed. The bright backlighting ensures that all values can be clearly read in the dark. If the Draeger Pac 8500 measures hazardous gas concentrations, it sets off an audible, visual and noticeable vibrating alarm. Two bright, flashing LEDs on the top and bottom of the device ensure that the alarm is easily visible from all sides. The acoustic signal reaches a volume of 90 dB. The display can show the peak concentration measured at any given moment. Earlier alarms registered can also be retrieved at a later time. The Pac 8500 logs concentrations and events along with date and time. The Pac 8500 with oxygen sensor has two additional alarm thresholds in addition to the standard alarm threshold settings. This provides an additional level of safety as a pre-alarm, in addition to the main alarm, can be set for both oxygen enriched and oxygen deficient atmospheres. The Pac 8500 logs concentrations and events along with date and time. The data can be downloaded to a PC via an interface and processed further there. The Pac 8500 is protected against, water, dust and other foreign bodies by a special membrane filter. When the filter becomes heavily soiled in use, you can quickly and easily replace it yourself. The device is then ready to use again in no time

The 1st Steps Chemical Classification Kit is a rapid and intuitive screening systems for response to chemical emergencies. It can be used to rapidly classify the hazards of solids, liquids and concentrated gases and vapors. Gentex PureFlo ESM + PF60 PAPR Helmet is a self-contained head mounted powered air purifying respirator designed for use in medium and heavy-duty industries including smelting, construction, metal recycling and welding. A refined built-in Electronic System Management (ESM) includes an LED status indicator and audible alarm which monitors airflow to alert the wearer of low flow, low battery and need for filter change.

A Gentex PureFlo ESM+ PF50 PAPR P-Series Helmet is a self-contained head mounted powered air purifying respirator designed for light duty industries including pharmaceutical, chemical, laboratory and healthcare. The refined built-in Electronic System Management (ESM) includes an LED status indicator and audible alarm which monitors airflow to alert the wearer of low flow, low battery and need for filter change.

Accessories

The MultiRae external battery charger allows a MultiRae battery to be charged while it is not housed in the unit. This is ideal for anyone who runs their MultiRae’s 24/7 or on back to back shifts. Now a back up battery can be swapped in without subjecting the instrument to down time. This is a must have accessory. The external battery charger comes as a stand alone unit and requires a power power. An additional accessory is available to group 5 battery charges on a single plastic holder, all of which can be charged simultaneously using a spider charger.

The MultiColor boots for MultiRae allow for customization of the look of MultiRae units. This is especially convenient for customers who operate with several different configurations of MultiRaes. Instead of using labels, or other ways to differentiate MultiRaes, they can assign each instrument a color so that they ensure the right instrument is selected for a given task.

The MicroRae four gas portable detector brings enhanced user friendliness and flexibility to wireless gas detection. AreaRae Pro Wireless Multi Gas, Multi Threat Monitor
The Rae Systems by Honeywell AreaRae Pro is a wireless, transportable area monitor that can simultaneously detect toxic and combustible gases, volatile organic compounds, radiation and meteorological factors that affect speed, direction and behavior of gas – for enhanced situational awareness. It works with Honeywell’s remote monitoring software, so you can see the real time threat readings, alarm status, location of each AreaRae Pro and much more – and make faster, more informed safety decisions. The AreaRae Pro delivers maximum flexibility and versatility in one device by including up to six 4R+ sensors for toxic and combustible gas. The AreaRae Pro offers more than 20 interchangeable sensors that can be swapped at a moments notice to meet the changing needs of first responders. The new photoionization sensor monitors VOCs in part per billion with built in compensation for temperature and humidity. Honeywell’s compact RAEMet sensor sits at the top of the AreaRae Pro and measures wind speed, wind direction, temperature and humidity. This information is then modeled in Honeywell’s real time monitoring software which integrates the ALOHA hazard monitoring program. An optional gamma sensor for radiation detection is also available. It will detect and measure gamma radiation with increased sensitivity and faster response without using an additional sensor slot.

Color Coded WBGT Heat Stress Meter

This heat stress meter features bright multi-color LCD backlights corresponding to OSHA’s heat stress alert levels. This visual alert system can be seen at a distance allowing management and workers to be instantly aware when the heat index enters potentially dangerous zones. These features, combined with the optional audible alarm help to mitigate the risk of heat related injuries in the workplace. This meter calculates heat stress values for direct sunlight and shade and displays humidity, maximum and minimum ambient (TA) and black globe (TG) temperatures. Also indicates low battery and a hold function.

Government organizations such as OSHA have set recommended heat stress limits for various activities. WBGT (Wet Bulb Globe Temperature) provides the most accurate determination of the heat stress index based on the cumulative effect of air temperature, air movement, relative humidity and radiant heat.

Each unit includes instructions, integrated tripod screw and 4 AAA batteries. NIST traceable certificate of compliance is available for RH and air temperature only.

The GT Fire Gas Detector is a dedicated hand-held methane detection meter specialized for the fire industry. The 3M Scott Protégé ZM Single Gas Monitor is an easy-to-use, zero-maintenance gas detection solution that delivers high performance in a small package. It is available in oxygen, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide single gas models. This single gas monitor is incredibly reliable, giving industrial workers and first responders the confidence to focus on the task at hand, not on their equipment. With one button activation, adjustable alarm settings and an easy to read display the Protégé ZM is simple to use. Just turn it on for the first time, and the monitor does the rest. Using the default settings from the factory there is no need to set up or program the monitor.
